Established in 1978 ,Municipal College, Rourkela, a NAAC B + , is a premier Higher Education Institution in Odisha.The campus is located in the heart of steel city of Rourkela, adjacent to Ring Road.

The College provides ample opportunities for modern knowledge delivery system and pedagogic innovation. It is in receipt of IDP (Institutional Development Plan) for enriching quality and excellence in Higher Education.

With ten undergraduate departments, Self-Financing BBA and Post Graduate Department in Commerce, Free of Cost spoken English Programme and with assistance from World Bank , the college is engaged in cutting-edge innovative teaching pedagogy and knowledge production and dissemination.
