The Crest
The College Crest was designed by Mr. Asit Mukherjee, an artist of national repute. The four-leaved crest comprises of four symbols – a temple, an industry, an open book and a microscope along with a telescope.
The temple signifies art and sculpture as embedded in the magnificent religious monuments of Orissa. It symbolises the unflinching faith and devotion of the people to the Almighty and their zealous allegiance to moral and ethical values. The temple stands for our college which is a veritable shrine of learning.
The industry symbolises the force of organisation, entrepreneurship and material prosperity. It stands for progress and development.
The open book symbolises free access of all to knowledge and learning, with a spirit of openness and frankness. It stands for the perpetuation of knowledge and the dissemination of learning.
The telescope and the microscope symbolise the depth and amplitude to which scientific temper has transported our psyche and has made us capable of seeing the unseen and hearing the unheard. It has magnified the horizon of our inquisitive mind and given an analytical and clinical touch to our quest for scientific truth and excellence.
